By the dock / beach

Hot hot hot, you might say. If you are planning to step away from your connected devices and the heat they produce. Cool down by the pool, beach or lake with a book, yes you read correctly a BOOK. Here are my top three pick:

1. Dear Data – Giorgia Lupi & Stefanie Posavec (Information design) A must read on a hot summer day. Not only this book will encourage you to record your life (interactions, travels, arguments...) in the form of data points, but then it will inspire you to create poetic data visualizations.

2. Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days

by Jake Knapp (Author), John Zeratsky Easy read by the dock. Next thing you know, you'll be looking for an opportunity to organise a design sprint with your cousins visiting the cottage. Inspiring and encouraging fast methodology to get down and design.

3. Change By Design: How Design Thinking Transforms Organizations and Inspires Innovation by Tim Brown  Tim Brown is the CEO of IDEO, the agency considered as the ground zero of strategic and innovative design thinking. This book is a must read and a classic, in order to understand the fundamentals of strategic user centered design.
